MOLITECNICA SUD AT BUSINESS FORUM ITALY-AZERBAIJAN

Molitecnica Sud participated at “Business Forum Italy-Azerbaijan“, held on February 21,  2020 in Rome. The event was organized by the italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI).

It was held on the occasion of the State visit in Italy by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, accompanied by a delegation of ministers. Together there were also institutional representatives and azeri entrepreneurs interested in partnering with Italian companies. During the event, also the Italian Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio, talked. The focus of the Forum was on agro-industrial machinery, transport and infrastructure, telecommunications, energy and clean tech.

The head of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy department Hikmat Hajiyev said:

“Relations between Italy and Azerbaijan are based on a long-standing friendship and good cooperation. Visits between the institutions of the two countries played an important role in the development of these relations. Last year we hosted the President of the Italian Republic in Azerbaijan for an official visit and we were pleased with the invitation for a state visit of our President Ilham Aliyev in Italy.

We believe that this visit will give an additional impetus to the development of relations between Italy and Azerbaijan, which are already excellent and a to boost our economic cooperation. We hope that at the end of 2020 the Tap will be finalized and will physically bring Azerbaijani gas to the Italian market. And we will connect our pipelines, but this pipeline is not only steel, but also a dialogue of long-term civilizations, friendship and cooperation between Italy and Azerbaijan, in other words: we will connect the Caspian with the Adriatic“.

The head of Azerbaijan’s Economic and Innovative Development Department Shahmar Movsumov talked about:

New horizons for cooperation, in particular with the signing of agreements in the field of bioplastics: “I think political relations between Azerbaijan and Italy are at a very high level and now it is time to convert these excellent political relations into commercial and business relations, increasing the benefits of both countries. I believe that this business forum Italy-Azerbaijan is a crucial step for business communities to meet”.

Sergio Ventricelli, Export Manager of Molitecnica Sud:

At the end of the initiative, Molitecnica Sud, represented by Export Manager Sergio Ventricelli, has created two important links with leading companies in hazelnut production.

“Molitecnica Sud, like many Italian industries, achieves important margins of turnover abroad. The Azeri market is one of those we’ve been monitoring for a few months. With the business forum Italy-Azerbaijan, we managed to create an initial relationship. The objective now is to enter gradually into that context. We do not exclude, in this sense, to participate also in the initiative that the government should realize in Baku at the end of the year”.
